Week #3 Readings...

The plot thickens as we continue this week through the Book of Genesis and into the Book of Job. Wasn't the Joseph story, as familiar as we are with it, so amazing? I couldn't stop reading it. And, as for Job... just amazing to me how much we can identify with those who lived so long ago.

AS FOR THE READING LIST... Thanks to Bill Truran for pointing out this great website, which has all the info you need if you're wanting to do the through-the-Bible-in-a-year using the chronological New Living Translation (which is what we're using for this.) Here's the link...

  1. This web site has been a big help to my ADD rattled brain. It has the proper translation, and I can make the type big.

  2. Job 22
    Eliphaz’s Third Response to Job...

6 “For example, you must have lent money to your friend
    and demanded clothing as security.
Yes, you stripped him to the bone.
7 You must have refused water for the thirsty
    and food for the hungry.
8 You probably think the land belongs to the powerful
and only the privileged have a right to it!
9 You must have sent widows away empty-handed
and crushed the hopes of orphans.

I can't tell you all, how many christians have told us things like this. One "christian" friend asked Barb "what did you do to God?" after she was diagnosed with cancer. By the way, Barb got over it and we are still friends with the girl.
