The plot thickens as we continue this week through the Book of Genesis and into the Book of Job. Wasn't the Joseph story, as familiar as we are with it, so amazing? I couldn't stop reading it. And, as for Job... just amazing to me how much we can identify with those who lived so long ago.
AS FOR THE READING LIST... Thanks to Bill Truran for pointing out this great website, which has all the info you need if you're wanting to do the through-the-Bible-in-a-year using the chronological New Living Translation (which is what we're using for this.) Here's the link...

Week #2 Readings...
Talk about dysfunctional families! Jacob pretty much takes the cake with Leah, Rachel, and each of their servants. Amazing stuff. By the way, those of you using a One Year Chronological Bible other than the Tyndale NLT, will have already started reading Job. That's because it's unclear to theologians and scholars exactly when the story of Job took place. Because many believe it took place sometime during the Patriarchal period (the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), some chronological Bibles insert Job after Genesis 11 whereas the NLT puts in just after Genesis.

Gettin' Started...
There are a lot of things I like to do... but never get to them. At least for me, the typical reason is that I have a hard time getting started. Strangely, I like to work out... but getting to the gym often keeps me from it. But once there... I'm in! I like to read... at least once I'm sitting in a quiet room reading. But the distance between wanting to read and actually sitting down to read can be pretty daunting. As far as reading the Bible through in a year, I suppose its all about just getting started... and fighting your way past the first two weeks until it develops as a habit... because if you stick with it... it really will become a habit... one that you'll really miss if you... miss it! So, let's get started with this!!
Gettin' Ready...
Ok... let's do this, folks! If you haven't already, go ahead and pick up a New Living Translation, One-Year Chronological Bible. You can get it anywhere online s/a Amazon or in any Bible bookstore or chain bookstores like Borders or Barnes & Noble. In case you don't have it by January 1st, I'll post the first week of reading below. Feel free to use this blog to share any thoughts or questions about what you're reading... as well as encouragements to others to keep on reading!! By this time next year, you will have read the entire Bible from Genesis 1 to Revelations 22. Pretty cool!
